Olivia and Johann’s wedding at Magheramorne Estate was the kind of day that reminds us why this venue is one of the most sought after wedding locations in Northern Ireland. With everything taking place on site, from relaxed morning prep to a stunning outdoor ceremony and a packed dancefloor, their day flowed effortlessly from start to finish.
As Northern Ireland wedding photographers, we’re always drawn to weddings that feel easy, natural and full of real moments, and this one delivered all of that in spades.
A Calm Morning in the Bridal Suite Overlooking the Coast
One of the biggest advantages of getting married at Magheramorne Estate is having everything in one place. Olivia got ready in the beautiful bridal suite overlooking the outdoor ceremony space and the coast, filled with soft natural light and unreal views across the water. It was the perfect setting for a relaxed morning with her closest people, soaking in the excitement before the day truly began.
Johann and his groomsmen were also on site, enjoying a laid back morning together, which meant there was no rushing, no travel stress and plenty of time to actually enjoy the build up to the ceremony.
This setup makes such a difference for couples who want their wedding photography to feel natural, story driven and completely unforced.
A Sunny Outdoor Ceremony in the Gardens
Magheramorne Estate is always stunning, but when the sun shows up, it becomes something else entirely. Olivia and Johann were lucky enough to have a beautiful outdoor ceremony in the gardens, surrounded by their favourite people with the coast as their backdrop.
The ceremony was accompanied by the Four String Quartet, who also played throughout the drinks reception, creating such a warm and emotional atmosphere without ever feeling formal or overdone.
Outdoor ceremonies here allow couples to stay present and relaxed, and from a photography point of view, the natural light and open space create images that feel timeless and effortless.
Stunning Florals by House of Elliot
The florals by House of Elliot elevated every part of the day, from Olivia’s bouquet to the ceremony setup and reception styling. Everything felt modern, soft and perfectly suited to Magheramorne’s coastal setting, adding colour and texture without overpowering the space.
Drinks, Sea Air and Live Music in the Gardens
After the ceremony, guests spilled out onto the terrace overlooking the coast where the Four String Quartet continued to play during the drinks reception. The atmosphere was relaxed, joyful and full of energy. This is always one of our favourite parts of the day to photograph, real conversations, big laughs, hugs and couples properly enjoying their people instead of disappearing for hours of portraits.
Olivia and Johann fully leaned into this, soaking up every minute while we grabbed portraits naturally as the day unfolded.
An Unreal Dancefloor with The Bentley Boys
When it came to the evening reception, the energy shifted and The Bentley Boys absolutely delivered. From the first song, the dancefloor was packed and stayed that way all night. The vibe felt more like a gig than a wedding, which is exactly how Olivia and Johann wanted it.
These are the moments we live for. Sweaty hugs, hands in the air, huge laughs and a couple completely in the moment with their people.
Wedding Film by Forever Endeavour Films
We were also lucky to work alongside our good friend Darragh from Forever Endeavour Films, who captured the day beautifully on video. His natural, cinematic approach pairs perfectly with documentary style photography and gives couples a way to relive not just how their wedding looked, but how it truly felt.
