Donna & Steven - Orange Tree House Wedding Northern Ireland

As a wedding photographer, I recently had the pleasure of capturing Donna and Steven's special day at this beautiful private venue on the shores of Strangford Lough, having photographed many weddings here we thought it was about time we blogged one.

With its historic charm and picturesque setting, Orange Tree House is a popular choice amongst couples. The venue has been lovingly restored and maintained and offered a unique and intimate location for Donna and Stevens day. We loved that the ceremony was on site, this makes things so much more chilled out and gives even more time for everyone to enjoy the day.

One of the most unique and best features of Orange Tree House is its location. Situated on the shores of Strangford Lough, this wedding venue provides a stunning natural backdrop for your wedding photographs. The grounds are meticulously maintained and offer the perfect setting for a wedding celebration.

Donna and Steven's wedding was a truly magical day, with a relaxed atmosphere, laughter, and unforgettable moments. They got ready in the quaint cottages just a few minutes from the venue and had their ceremony on site conducted by the talented celebrant, Michael McAlinden and beautiful music provided by the incredibly talented Aisleagh Harpist.

At Orange Tree House, we adore shooting wedding ceremonies in their stunning ceremony room. Originally built in the 1820s as a church, the ceremony room is steeped in history and provides a majestic backdrop the couples wedding vows. The stone walls, vaulted ceilings, and original exposed beams create a unique and intimate atmosphere that is perfect for a wedding ceremony and reception. The natural light that floods the room creates a warm and welcoming ambiance and has beautiful tones in the photographs as you'll see below.

Donna's eye for detail was evident throughout the venue, as she had personally created much of the decor for the room, the arch which they said their vows in front of looked incredible. Her stunning dress from Petticoat Lane Bridal in Lisburn was the perfect complement to the beautiful flowers from Kathryn's Flower Barn. It was also lovely to see Brooke Avenue serving delicious ice cream to us and the guests at the terrace overlooking Strangford Lough and the Mourne Mountains.

As the day turned to evening, we captured some of the most beautiful photographs down by the waters of Strangford Lough, which Orange Tree House is nestled beside. The serene setting provided the perfect backdrop for Donna and Steven to relax before their first dance.
